"I’m now able to get the bus to sessions, which for me is a major step forward in my independence”

Despite never formally being diagnosed with anything, Phil was a low level learner and didn’t complete school, leaving without any qualifications. Naturally nervous and quiet, he struggled to go anywhere on his own, and was reliant on his mum dropping him off everywhere he went.

Phil said, “I had major social interaction issues, and found it hard to talk to people both one-on-one and in a group. I knew this was a major stumbling block in getting into employment, so I decided to do something about it. Evolve has helped a lot.”

Working with a coach, Phil is currently updating his maths and IT skills and building on confidence so he’s able to better complete assessments and start on courses.

He added, “I had an interview at Fox’s biscuits and got past a couple of stages, but failed the assessments due to my poor maths skills. I’m working with my fantastic coach who’s really helping me build on my self-confidence so I feel I have a better chance of landing a job. Plus I’m now also able to get the bus to sessions, which for me is a major step forward in my independence.”
