“The Bridges project has helped me to gain a new qualification, boost my confidence and make new friends. I would highly recommend the Bridges project to anyone who needs support”

In April 2018, Patricia joined the BBO Bridges project at Steps to Work. Patricia required support with enhancing her skill set and increasing her confidence to progress forward.

A Project Officer arranged one to one appointments on a weekly basis for Patricia. Within the sessions, new goals were designed for Patricia to help her gain new qualifications and build her confidence.

In addition to the one to one appointments, Patricia attended group activity sessions which involved arts and crafts activities. These sessions were a great way for her to meet new people, increase in confidence and improve her overall wellbeing.

Patricia volunteers at her local church, working within the kitchen where she is responsible for preparing the food for occasions and events. In order for Patricia to keep her voluntary position, she required a Level 2 Food Safety qualification. Patricia’s Project Officer sourced a local training provider where Patricia went on to attend a two-day training course. She passed the course with flying colours and is extremely happy that she can continue to work within the Church kitchen!

The Bridges project has supported Patricia in many ways, helping her to gain a new qualification, meet new people and, most importantly, grow in confidence.
