Susan was suffering from low confidence and self-esteem due to being out of work for over 13 years. She found her self claiming ESA struggling to find the motivation to leave the house and meet new people then she discovered the Bridges project.

Susan attend her local Library and noticed a sign advertising the Bridges project and decided the time was right to tackle her barriers and turn her life around. She attended the Library and spoke to Simon the Bridges project officer working within the Library and explained that she had got stuck in a rut and felt her life was passing her by. She explained that she was struggling with her confidence and motivation and didn’t know which way to turn.

After spending time discussing her options with Simon she decided to give the Bridges project a go. Susan has been attending weekly sessions with Simon where they have be focusing on Susan`s Confidence, Motivation and Employability skills. Susan as also attended a number of Arts and Crafts sessions which gave her the opportunity to meet new people and build on her Confidence.

Susan has commented that since starting the Bridges project it`s given her a focus in life and she now feels very positive about the future. “The support and kindness shown by Simon has turned my life around.”
