In 2017 our CEO committed to investing in training to support four members of staff to become qualified Mental Health First Aid Instructors in a bid to improve mental health support and knowledge in the organisation and train every member of staff as a mental health first aider.

Absence due to mental ill health related sickness costs UK businesses millions every year, a figure that can be drastically reduced by improving understanding and support and reducing the stigma associated with Mental Health. That's exactly what Mental Health First Aid training sets out to do. 

Not only have we been training every member of staff at Steps to Work in Mental Health First Aid but we have also been able to offer the training commercially at a competitive price to other businesses to help local employers support their staff better. 

We are thrilled to have been recognised for the Workplace Wellbeing Award at this year's Black Country Chamber awards, shortlisted alongside Midlands Air Ambulance and Blacks Vets.

As well as this we have been shortlisted for the Social Impact Champion award. Social impact is a vital part of what we do at Steps to Work and we are honoured to have been recognised for our commitment.
