Marc signed up to Bridges in February 2019 after struggling to find work since graduating with a degree in Music Business in 2010.

Marc was keen to start volunteering to build his skills and gain some work experience. Bridges helped him to get a placement with a small local community group where he used his IT skills to do some admin work along with designing publicity material and research for future projects

Bridges also found Marc a placement with Citizens Advice where he initially shadowed advisors doing advice work. He really enjoyed the volunteering and the training he received and he started to look at the possibility of finding work in an advice and guidance role. To help him develop this he was enrolled onto a level 2 advice and guidance distance learning course with Leicester College that he really engaged with.

When Marc first joined Bridges he was very quiet and reserved, but the volunteering really helped him to come out of his shell and he visibly improved in confidence. Marc has gone from being in a position where he had no idea of a direction in life, to being at the start of a new career that he is really enjoying.

“Bridges has helped me with my confidence and it has helped me to identify the skills that I have and to improve them. I now feel more confident to go out into the world of work and know that I have something to offer”
