Brian came to Ideal for All (IFA) because he had lost his job. His company had been taken over and his new employer implemented a training programme for all employees.

Brian has problems with literacy and the thought of training was impossible for him and instead of requesting support Brian panicked and walked out of his job.

Brian had worked as a Cleaner for 4 years and was based at Birmingham Railway Station. He worked full time and enjoyed his work very much. Losing the job made him distressed but more disappointed with himself about his actions.

Brian was registered on the BBO Bridges project and attended IFA regularly for support. Within weeks he became focused, motivated and optimistic about the future, IFA offered practical support with CV update, and one to one support with job searching plus benefit advice.

Despite the difficulties Brian experiences on a daily basis he remains dependable, shows commitment and is a very sociable individual. Brian applied for many posts and has now gained part time employment as a Cleaner based at Birmingham University he returned to work on 16th January 2017.
