Outreach Project- Supported Housing

Walsall MBC Supported Housing Team recognises that Steps to Work provides a quality advice service to the citizens of the Walsall borough. The objective of the programme is to ensure that individuals and households within the councils supported accommodation access a full range of specialist employment and training advice through the appointment of Sharon Grant- Steps to Work’s Outreach Project Officer.

The purpose of the project is to deliver a seamless service to those needing access to opportunities to lift them out of debt and to provide other life chances via employment and training. Initial funding has been provided for a six month pilot project from 1^st October 2011- 31^st March 2012  via Walsall Citizens Advice Bureau Walsall MBC Supported Housing Team. The project  focuses on supporting access to vocational training, support with job search, help with CVs and application forms as well as interview techniques.
