Learners from the Basic Skills programme were recognised for their achievements at an award ceremony which took place at St Johns House, Wolverhampton, on 7 August 2009.
In total 8 learners were presented with award certificates under a number of categories; Entry Numeracy Level 1 and Entry Literacy to Level 1, as well as other awards for ‘Outstanding Performance On Placement’, ‘Best Overall Improvement On Programme’ and ‘Excellent Attendance and Punctuality’.
As part of the celebration learners received their certificates from Gill Mansell (Centre Manager), Trevor Codner (Senior Manager) or Simon Carter (Placement Officer) . The celebration event ended with an excellent buffet lunch which marked a fitting end to a lot of hard work put in by the learners over the course of their programme. Well done to everyone involved.
Basic Skills Tutor Simon Kelsey said: “Each learner has worked really hard and achieved something they can be proud of and it’s a pleasure for us to be celebrating their success.”
The successful learners were: Charlene Gilbert, Daniel Gill, John Maiden, Steve White, Chris Jones, June Rothan, Kimberley Evans, Geraldine Bunsie.
