Carolann reaches for the stars!

“Without this programme I wouldn't know what to of done next, its helped with my confidence no end”

Being alone at any age can be terrifying and no more so for Carolann.

Carolann moved into care at the age of 13. Having various problems at home, Carolann knew that she would be better off in care where someone could give her the care that every child needs. Being moved around the area by social services, Carolann found it difficult to settle in one place and left school at 16 without any qualifications.

A friend of Carolann’s had been on a similar programme to Future Routes at Steps to Work.

“I came with my friend to see what the programme had to offer and decided to sign up there and then. The staff where very friendly and made me feel
welcome” said Carolann. “I was looking forward to getting involved and socialising.”

Carolann has been on the Future Routes programme for 10 weeks and has achieved many certificates in a short amount of time in, Health and Safety, Drug Awareness, Equal Opportunities and Disability Awareness to name a few.

“I am so pleased I know have something to put on my CV. The certificates all go in my portfoliotowards ASDAN level 1 and im also working towards my ASDAN Employability qualification as well. I have had the opportunity to go to the Ackers and camping which ive really enjoyed” added
Carolann.

Once Carolann has completed the Future Routes programme, she will then be moving to Nova Training to complete NVQ Level 1 in Business and
Administration.
