A creative future for Rasik

A creative future for Rasik

Rasik said, “I have been supported into work and managed to gain a role doing what I wanted to do, not settling for second best. The team have really helped me in finding training and the right opportunities”

Rasik had been recruited to shor term temporary roles in warehousing, with several different employers to make a living. Living in Pleck, Walsall, Rasik called into his local employment shop situated at Caldmore Green for support with finding longer term employment.

After an interview with Project Officer, Roy Jones, it was clear that Rasik was a very creative person who had experience and wanted a career in Drama.

However, after extensive job search and looking at different careers in that field, Rasik decided to look at another option in which he could sustain a career as there was not enough opportunities available to him.

Feeling a little fed up and demotivated, Rasik searched for other employment and then decided that security work would be a good option.

Rasik undertook SIA licence training, fully funded by the Caldmore shop and gained his certificate and licence straight away. Without the funding to proceed with the SIA training, Rasik wouldn’t of been able to gain an official security badge.

Rasik persisted looking for employment and any opportunities in Drama and gained a placement at Millfields Primary School working with children and utilising his passion for drama and theatre. Although Rasik is currently working in the field that he wanted, he knows that he always has security work to fall back on should he need to.
