Equality & diversity

Steps to Work is fully committed to promoting equality and diversity and integrating this into every aspect of the organisation. For us, they are not ‘bolt ons’ but mainstream features of our organisation, fundamental to our core values and to running a successful business.

Our genuine commitment to the equality and diversity agenda is reflected through a number of nationally recognised accreditation standards including Committed to Equality, Disability Two Ticks and Investors in People. Read our Quality page for more information about these standards.

As an employer and service provider we recognise the importance of equality and diversity as it relates to every employee, client, supplier and stakeholder.

We recognise that we have a responsibility to help remove barriers to employment and to provide equality of opportunity for all.

We also believe passionately that having a diverse workforce which reflects the local community we serve means we are better able to respond to the needs of our clients.

We ensure that all Steps to Work staff have a high level of knowledge related to equality and diversity in general as well as providing further training to those who have more specialised roles.
